Rental Payments

You define how and when you are paid.

Renters pay you directly (except if you use the Grand Vacation Rentals credit card merchant account—see below) by one of the methods you accept. This could be by credit card, check, money order or cashier’s check. Please be aware of fake money order/cashier’s check scams, and do not give renters money back if they overpay you. We strongly caution you against refunding in cash any money order or cashier’s check you receive—particularly from overseas.

If you have the ability to accept credit cards via your own merchant account, we will direct renters to the shopping cart on your website or to your PayPal account so they can make payment directly to you. You will receive payment in your Paypal or other merchant account, and we charge NO fee for this transaction.

If you opt to receive a payment by check or money order, we will provide your mailing address, email and phone number to the renter in an email. You will receive a confirmation email for each booking we take on your behalf, so you know that you should expect a payment. It will include contact information for the renter. Your management system in Owner’s Place will also track all your rental payments and payments due. You will receive all relevant renter information, so you may contact them as well.

You define the timing of rental payments: how much is due at the time of booking, when the balance is due, and when any other payments (such as a damage deposit) are due.

When you receive a payment that we cannot know about (such as a check, credit card payment or money order paid outside of our system), you will need to update our system, via Owner’s Place, to let us know you have been paid. This payment notification will trigger the Grand Vacation Rentals system to send out directions and other necessary details to your renter. We will remind you via email when you should expect to receive a payment.

Grand Vacation Rentals does not collect any rental or deposit payments from renters unless you opt to utilize the Grand Vacation Rentals credit card merchant account. Please refer to the Grand Vacation Rentals credit card merchant account information page for complete details, fees and sign-up. Using the Grand Vacation Rentals credit card merchant account is completely optional and is offered only as an additional convenience for you. You may opt to use your own credit card merchant account or any other method of payment, as you prefer. No fees are charged by Grand Vacation Rentals when you use your own credit card merchant account.
